'Israel has the perfect right to defend itself', says defence secretary

Grant Shapps has said he doesn't think there is "any equivalence" between Israel and Hamas, citing reports - which Sky News has not independently verified - of people including toddlers - being massacred in southern Israel.

The defence secretary said Israel will "go out of their way to protect civilians", when asked if there is a limit to how far Israel should go given the risk to civilian lives.
