Protests in support of Hamas are causing a "huge amount of distress" to Jewish communities in the wake of the attacks on Israel, Britain's foreign secretary has said.

James Cleverly told Sky News there was "no necessity" for demonstrations and warned that the flying of the Hamas flag was a criminal offence.

Demonstrations were held in London on Monday night in support of both Palestinians and Israelis.
