The International Criminal Court, or ICC, said it is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his defense minister Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders — Yehia Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Haniyeh.

"My office submits that these individuals, through a common plan, have systematically deprived the civilian population of Gaza of objects indispensable to human survival," ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan said Monday about the Israeli leaders. On Hamas, he said "there are reasonable grounds to believe that these three Hamas leaders are criminally responsible for the killing of Israeli civilians in attacks perpetrated by Hamas and other armed groups on the 7th of October, 2023."

The warrants, which need approval by an ICC panel, were condemned by Netanyahu, President Joe Biden and Hamas, respectively.
