The intensifying conflict in Ethiopia will be on the table at a meeting of the UN security council later today. African countries, the EU and the US are calling for a ceasefire in the fighting between Ethiopian government troops and breakaway forces from the northern Tigray region. Ethiopian prime minister Abiy Ahmed says his army is on the brink of victory.
