Long lines outside of food banks in Toronto have been highlighting how hard inflation is hitting people in the city.
For the last year, the Fort York Food Bank has seen a month-over-month increase in people needing help — demand that executive director Julie LeJeune says has been mainly fuelled by inflation.
The Daily Bread Food Bank has also seen demand rise exponentially, and organizers say 2023 is shaping up to be the worst year that food banks across the city have ever experienced before.
