Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for informal face-to-face talks at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, near Moscow, on Monday.

Modi's visit to Moscow marks his first trip to the country since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine.

"Our official talks will start tomorrow, but today, in this homely ambience, we can calmly discuss, probably, the same questions but unofficially," Putin told Modi.

Modi arrived in Moscow for a two-day state visit earlier on Monday.
