Farmers protesting at New Delhi's Singhu border held a candlelight vigil on Thursday in memory of a person who died during the tractor rally on India's Republic Day, as widespread protests against farm laws in the country continue.

Thousands of farmers protesting against agricultural reforms had stormed into the historic Red Fort complex in the Indian capital on Jan. 26 after tearing down barricades and driving tractors through roadblocks. Police had fired tear gas in an unsuccessful bid to force the protesters back. One protester was killed and Delhi police said 86 officers had been injured across the city.

Holding candles and lights from their mobile phones, protesters marched from Delhi's border with its neighbouring northern state of Haryana, demanding the arrest of those responsible for the Republic Day violence.
