How can Ukraine use its new tanks against Russia?

Russia is on the attack as Vladimir Putin pours soldiers into areas like Bakhmut in a bid to take the rest of the Donbas, but Leopard, Challenger and Abrams main battle tanks are on their way to the battlefield to face Moscow’s T72s, as Kyiv prepares for a major counteroffensive - but are these modern tanks enough to win the war and how will they change Ukraine’s tactics?

Some experts say they are a “game-changer” but others believe they’re not a “wonder weapon”.

Instead, they signal the West’s commitment to Ukraine and they open the door for even more advanced weapons in the future like F-16 fighter jets and longer range precision missiles like ATACMS.

We look at the capability of the new armour compared to Russia’s main battle tank and how Ukraine could use them to repel Putin’s latest offensive.
