Al Shifa hospital is the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip. It has suspended operations while enduring a siege by Israeli forces, and running out of electricity, medicine, and supplies. Its name is Arabic for ‘House of Healing’, and across generations, sick and injured Palestinians have flocked to the facility for treatment.
