Hong Kong's freedoms 'threatened' by China's new security law

China has moved to impose new national security legislation for Hong Kong, seen by many as a threat to the city's freedoms.

Similar laws are already used in mainland China to jail critics of the communist regime.

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has defended the law, claiming it will not impact the city's autonomy guaranteed by the 'One Country, Two Systems' principle.
