With cold and flu season in full swing, many Canadians might be stuck with a cough that feels neverending. For those who have a cough that just won't quit, they might be wondering if it's time to see a doctor.

Post-infectious coughs will usually resolve within eight weeks, but is something more concerning going on?

The lingering cough is what one respirologist calls a post-infectious cough, and says the cough can stick around from lingering inflammation, even if they’re no longer sick with a respiratory infection.
