Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh has accused Israel of deliberately starving Gazans in the territory's north, and said Hamas was ready to continue fighting.

In a televised speech, Haniyeh also said the group – which is widely designated a terrorist organization – was showing flexibility in negotiations with Israel. Haniyeh called on Palestinians to march to the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem on the first day of Ramadan next week. While Israel has said it would allow limited prayers there with security restrictions, there are concerns the call could set the stage for possible clashes.
