Hamas attack has 'thrown away 50 years of gains made'

Yezid Sayigh, senior fellow at the Malcolm H. Kerr, Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut, has given Sky News his views on how the conflict between Israel and Hamas will play out, saying the Israeli offensive "can only be horrifically messy" and "horrifically brutal".

Israel's military says it is prepared for a "coordinated" air, ground and naval offensive in Gaza.
