Al Jazeera has spoken to Haiti's foreign minister after weeks of protests calling for the president to step down.
Jovenel Moise's opponents say he has stayed in office illegally after his term ended a week ago.
But Moise says he still has one year left to serve.
He also claims he foiled a plot to overthrow him, but human rights activists say he is going after anyone that opposes him.
Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports.
