Justice Secretary Alex Chalk will deliver a statement in the Commons on Daniel Abed Khalife, a British soldier awaiting trial on terror-related charges, who escaped from a prison in southwest London.

The search is ongoing for the former soldier who escaped from Wandsworth Prison while awaiting trial for terror and Official Secrets Act offences has entered its second day.

The Metropolitan Police issued an urgent appeal to trace Daniel Abed Khalife after he made his getaway on Wednesday morning.

The 21-year-old suspect is alleged to have escaped from the prison - one of the UK's largest - under a food truck, a Whitehall source has told Sky News.
