Speaking in Toronto, at the Economic Club of Canada Monday, Canadian foreign affairs minister Mélanie Joly said the world was experiencing an international security crisis and that global stability is increasingly uncertain.

“Our world is marked by geopolitical turbulence, unpredictability, and uncertainty. The tectonic plates of the world order are shifting beneath our feet, and the structures that are built upon them are fracturing,” Joly said.

The liberal politician’s concern comes as Canada's relationship with India sours, and as war rages on in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Joly also called for a humanitarian pause in Gaza — to allow the safe passage of aid to Palestinians living in fear and danger, as Israel expands its operation to target Hamas militants.
