After spending more than two months trapped in the Azovstal steel plant while cornered by Russian forces in Mariupol, Ukraine, about 100 people have finally been able to flee with the help of International Red Cross and the United Nations. Redmond Shannon reports on the harsh conditions they say they endured, and the fears for the many others still stuck in the facility.

Although some Ukrainian communities have been liberated from Russian forces, many people are still struggling to live again after the conflict decimated their homes. Crystal Goomansingh travelled to the village of Novoselivka to speak with people about what they have lost.

In Canada, heavy rain has triggered severe flooding in southern Manitoba, prompting people to flee their homes. Brittany Greenslade reports from near the town of Carman to see how residents are trying to protect their properties.

After six months of fact-finding about how a gunman killed 22 people over 13 hours in April 2020, the Nova Scotia Mass Casualty Commission has released its interim report into the massacre. As Ross Lord explains, this interim report doesn't bring comfort to the families of the victims.

And after being penalized by the pandemic for two years, Canadian bars, pubs, and restaurants are getting ready for a surge of customers once again, thanks to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Heather Yourex-West explains how a long and lucrative run for Canadian NHL teams brings in the big bucks for the hospitality sector.
