Canada’s defence community is facing more allegations of sexual misconduct within its ranks. A Department of National Defence employee has come forward to Global News with an account of her experience not only as a Canadian Forces officer, but as a civilian in the department. Mercedes Stephenson has the exclusive details.

Turning to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, there is still a long way to go to get a vaccine to every Canadian who wants one. With new variants gaining ground, the government is urging people to be cautious. As Eric Sorensen reports, public health officials are concerned people may be letting their guard down.

The Canadian economy has been hit hard by the pandemic, but there are some signs of optimism. Last month, 259,000 jobs were added across the country. But about 600,000 fewer Canadians are employed from a year ago and many of those still unemployed are in Alberta. Fletcher Kent has a look at the numbers in the province.

Scientists in the U.K. believe the B.1.1.7 variant originally came from a single immunocompromised patient. The person had a harder time fighting COVID-19 and that made them a vessel for the virus to incubate and mutate. Farah Nasser explores how effective the vaccines are against any new mutations.

Living life during the pandemic has been hard on all of us. Tonight, Mike Drolet reflects on how his own family got through these difficult times.
