U.S. attorney general William Barr spoke about the ongoing protests across the country in response to the death of George Floyd, saying a large majority are peaceful demonstrators but they have evidence there are some “extremist agitators” that are “hijacking” the protests to “pursue their own agenda."

He added they are also seeing foreign “actors playing all sides” to exacerbate the violence. He also said they had arrested 51 arrests for federal crimes in connection to violent rioting.

FBI director Christopher Wray also spoke about arrests made during ongoing protests in response to the death of George Floyd, saying that law enforcement was focused on the violence and rioting that has taken place during the demonstrations.

He said that regardless of what ideologies people may hold, if people commit acts of violence, rioting or anything they'd consider terrorism, "we're going to pursue it."
