George Floyd death: U.S. Attorney General Barr says "justice will be served" in Floyd case

U.S. Attorney General William Barr on Saturday delivered a statement regarding the death of George Floyd and the violent protests that occurred in cities across the country, saying that “justice will be served” in the case.

He added that “the voices of peaceful protests” are being hijacked by "outside radicals and agitators."

Barr stated that it is the responsibility of local and state leadership to “halt this violence” that has ensued in recent days as protests escalated.

Floyd, an unarmed Black man, died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minn. on Monday after a police officer kneeled on his neck for several minutes, until he was unresponsive.
