Gaza journalists are ‘living the story’

Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi, reporting from Ramallah in the Occupied West Bank, says that for journalists working in Gaza, it has been very personal. It has been very difficult. It has been reporting done under the most difficult of circumstances.

And we have to understand those people living in Gaza, the reporters – ours and everybody else’s – they are from there. They live there.

When they report on the fact that there is water running out, that electricity is being cut off, that there is a lack of food, they are very much going through the stories that they are reporting. They are very much, in every sense of the idea, living the story that they are reporting in Gaza right now.
