Hundreds of surfers staged a paddle-out protest off the coast of Falmouth, England on Saturday to push G7 leaders to put ocean health at the heart of the ongoing summit being held in the U.K. this weekend.
Surfers of all ages, even some with canine companions, took to the sea with surfboards, paddle boards, kayaks and placards to demand world leaders acknowledge the ocean's crucial role in tackling climate change.
Hugo Tagholm, chief executive of Surfers Against Sewage which organized the paddle-out, said while leaders are talking about climate change, "this is a decade for action."
