1. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill that takes control of a special tax district surrounding Walt Disney World that for half a century allowed Walt Disney to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

2. The fate of President Joe Biden's plan to cancel $430 billion in student debt for some 40 million borrowers is placed in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court in a case that presents another major test of executive branch authority.

3. Provisional results from Nigeria's disputed presidential election showed Bola Tinubu from the ruling party closing in on victory, a Reuters tally of votes in 31 of the country's 36 states and the federal capital showed.

4. Crews in central Oklahoma were assessing the damage and clearing debris left behind by a string of rare February tornadoes that roared through the area overnight, knocking out power to thousands of customers and injuring a dozen people.

5. Russian forces pressed forward their weeks-long drive to encircle and capture the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut where the commander of Ukraine's ground forces described the situation as "extremely tense.”
