Fans took to the streets in Tampa, Florida on Sunday to celebrate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Super Bowl LV victory, though many did so without masks or social distancing despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this week Dr. Anthony Fauci, the U.S. top advisor on COVID-19, advised people to avoid Super Bowl parties and urged people to wear masks, though images coming out of Florida appeared to show many disregarding the advice. People were also seen in large crowds with little to no physical distancing.

While Florida has seen a dip in deaths due to COVID-19, having dropped below 100 in a 24-hour period for the first in a month, new cases still soared past 6,500 and weekly reported deaths in the state was more than 1,200.
