East African regional leaders have given an armed group in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo a month to withdraw from territories they continue to hold in North Kivu province.
The M23 rebel group has continued their advance to the provincial capital, Goma. The conflict has displaced more than half a million people since March 2022.
