Don­ald Trump at Wash­ing­ton court to face charges in elec­tion case

Former US President Donald Trump has arrived at a Washington, DC courthouse to face federal charges related to his effort to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election.
Trump faces four charges in the indictment, which accuses him of attempting to interfere with the vote count and seeking to block Congress from certifying the results.
The former president has denied any wrongdoing and is widely expected to plead not guilty to the allegations.
The case is the third criminal indictment filed since March against Trump, who remains the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race.
