संविधान के अनुच्छेद 44 में कहा गया है कि सभी नागरिकों के लिए समान नागरिक संहिता लागू करना सरकार का दायित्व है । सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने वर्ष 1985 में ही कह दिया था कि संसद को समान नागरिक संहिता की रूपरेखा बनानी चाहिए । तो अब अगर मोदी सरकार कह रही है कि वो समान नागरिक संहिता लाने के लिए तैयार है तो फिर इतना हंगामा क्यों मचा है ? मुस्लिम पर्सनल लॉ बोर्ड कह रहा है कि अगर UCC लागू हुआ तो देश की एकता पर असर पड़ेगा । लेकिन अगर आप भी यही सोच रहे हैं कि भारत में रहने वाले हर नागरिक के लिए एक समान कानून होने में बुराई ही क्या है ? और सेकुलर देश भारत में धर्म..देश से बड़ा कैसे हो सकता है तो आज का DNA आपको मिस नहीं करना चाहिए ।

Article 44 of the constitution states that it is the duty of the government to enforce a uniform civil code for all citizens. The Supreme Court had said in the year 1985 itself that the Parliament should frame the Uniform Civil Code. So now if the Modi government is saying that it is ready to bring a Uniform Civil Code, then why is there so much hue and cry? Muslim Personal Law Board is saying that if UCC is implemented then the unity of the country will be affected. But if you are also thinking that what is wrong in having uniform law for every citizen living in India? And how can religion in a secular country be bigger than the country in India?
