इसी महीने भारत में क्रिकेट विश्वकप खत्म हुआ है और जापान में एक अनोखे विश्वकप का आयोजन हुआ है. लेकिन ये विश्वकप दूसरे खेलों के विश्वकप से जरा हटकर है. दुनियाभर में Cricket, Football, Hockey से लेकर Chess तक कई बड़े Tournaments होते हैं लेकिन जापान में जो विश्वकप आयोजित किया गया, उसमें कचरा उठाने का Competition है. जापान में SpoGomi World Cup का आयोजन किया गया. इस Event का नाम 'Sport' और 'Gomi' शब्दों से मिलकर बना है. जो जापान में कचरे के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाता है. इस अनोखे Tournament में 21 देशों की टीमों ने हिस्सा लिया.
