Canada has committed nearly $2 billion in financial assistance to support the Ukrainian government and its economy this year.

Organizations that typically respond to natural disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes are also distributing aid.

But in addition to supplies of medicine, food and cleaning drinking water, there are calls for a different kind of aid, such as specialized equipment like body armour and drones.
