Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved plans for a military operation in Rafah, where around one million people in Gaza have fled after being previously ordered to do so by Israeli forces.

The green light comes as an aid ship from Cyprus arrived on the Gazan coast, containing 130 pallets of humanitarian equipment and 115 tonnes of food and water.
