Des Ki Baat - April 12, 2022: Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comment that Hindi should be an alternative to English has triggered a sharp pushback from the non-Hindi belt, especially the South, against what they call 'imposition of Hindi'. There's been a pushback, particularly by political leaders from South India. Telangana minister KT Rama Rao has called it 'language chauvinism' and Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from West Bengal has called it 'cultural terrorism'. Is this an attempt to enforce a Hindi agenda, a war cry against the mother tongues of non-Hindi speaking people? (Audio in Hindi)
