People are being transported to safe places due to the assumption of waves of 2-4.5 meters in the sea. Wind speed can increase from 100-120 kmph to 145 kmph in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha and East Midnapore and South 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed the largest number of teams so far in Odisha and West Bengal as part of its preparations for the cyclone 'Yaas'.
