European stock markets appear to have stabilised after Credit Suisse secured £45bn in funding from Switzerland's central bank.

Despite the recent turmoil in the banking sector - in part caused by the cost of borrowing - the European Central Bank decided to raise interest rates in an attempt to curb inflation.
