Boris Johnson has apologised for his attendance at a Downing Street garden party during the first lockdown.
The prime minister's insistence that he thought it was a “work event” was met with scepticism by many in the country - especially by those who were fined for lockdown infringements.
At least 118,000 fines have been issued for breaches of coronavirus rules, some of those to people caught having a social drink in their garden.
