Quebec Premier François Legault announced Tuesday that the province will be rolling back some COVID-19 restrictions in two phases.
On Jan. 31, private gatherings will be allowed up to four people or two-family bubbles. Restaurants can open dining rooms at 50 per cent capacity with tables of up to four people or two-family bubbles. The vaccine passport will be in effect.
Also, primary and secondary schools can resume extracurricular activities. Sports can resume for those 18 and under at a maximum of 25 people. No competition will be allowed.
In the second phase on Feb. 7, performance halls and cinemas can reopen at 50 per cent capacity with a maximum of 500 people.
Places of worship can reopen at 50 per cent capacity with a maximum of 250 people. The vaccine passport will remain in effect.
