Toronto reported 481 new cases of COVID-19 in the city on Wednesday, with chief medical officer of health Dr. Eileen de Villa reminding Torontonians that the coronavirus is not a cold nor the flu and people need to be careful.

Mayor John Tory spoke about the city's winter plan so people can still get outside and exercise while staying safe. He said the city's rinks will implement a registration system to avoid overcrowding and outlined what outdoor amenities would be open this winter.

Tory was also asked why he did not personally intervene in the case of a Etobicoke, Ont. barbecue restaurant being open for indoor dining despite the lockdown for the region. He said there were enough people on site to diffuse the situation, but said he's "not entirely happy." He added he'd be happy with using concrete blocks as an way to deter indoor dining at the restaurant, but said he won't direct enforcement.

Ontario reported 1,373 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, bringing the provincial total to 107,883.
