Coronavirus: Toronto Mayor Tory announces locations of 9 mass vaccination centres | FULL

Toronto Mayor John Tory on Wednesday announced the locations for nine mass vaccination centres that are being set up across the city.

Tory said the vaccination sites would be “ready for operations” in the coming weeks and would be an additional means of administering vaccines, on top of local pharmacies.

Tory made the comments during a media availability on the city’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside Toronto’s medical officer of health Dr. Eileen de Villa and Fire Chief Matthew Pegg, head of the city’s Office of Emergency Management.

De Villa reported 440 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, along with 16 deaths. She said 32 confirmed cases of the U.K. variant called B.1.1.7 have been identified in Toronto.
