Coronavirus: Pfizer vaccine data shows promise, but more data still needed

Pfizer's CEO expressed happiness over the news that the pharmaceutical company's COVID-19 vaccine proved to be more than 90 per cent effective in protecting people from the virus, according to data released by the company.

The news bring hope to the world as a first step out of the restrictions much of the globe has been living under, but experts caution that a lot more data is still needed.

The vaccine is one of 11 candidates in late-stage phase 3 clinical trials, it enrolled nearly 44,000 participants in 6 countries and raised no safety concerns, but Health Canada will be issuing its own approval for it. Abigail Bimman has more.
