Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister got emotional during his Thursday press conference when answering a question that he once was asked about why he “likes to be hated so much,” telling reporters he understands people’s anger towards health restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but pleaded for them not to gather this holiday season to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Health officials say another 12 Manitobans have died from COVID-19 and 368 have been infected with the virus, on Thursday.
The latest cases announced on the province’s online COVID-19 portal Thursday bring the province’s total number of cases reported since March to 17,751.
Since March 353 Manitobans have died from COVID-19.
