U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday spoke about COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the country, saying that "time is of the essence" in terms of getting doses out, and said his administration is hoping they will soon have enough vaccine supply within the next three weeks to start vaccinating up to 1.5 million a day, exceeding his initial goal of one million per day. This could potentially increase his administration's goal of 100 million vaccines in his first 100 days in office to 150 million.

He also said that he believes that everyone the U.S. will be at the stage where anyone who wants a vaccine can get one by the springtime. Though he added it would be a logistical challenge "that exceeds anything we've tried" but is confident of that goal.

Biden also addressed his comments in which he said they could not slow the trajectory of COVID-19 in comparison to previous comments during the presidential campaign about shutting down the virus, saying he would do so but that he never said it would not happen in two months. He said he's confident the country will beat COVID-19, but it will still be an issue they will have to deal with in the summer and early fall.
