A poll conducted exclusively for Global News by Ipsos found that support for the Conservative Party has fallen three points to 26 per cent, while the Liberal government remains steady at 38 per cent of decided voters.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is also getting high marks for his leadership, with 52 per cent of those polled approving of the Liberal government.

Ipsos Public Affairs CEO Darrell Bricker said that the Liberals are in a position similar to where they were towards the end of the 2015 election, which gave them their first majority. Meanwhile, he says the Conservatives and leader Erin O'Toole should be concerned with the numbers as he has been unable to grow the party's support outside of the Prairies, where they have the majority of their existing seats.
