After being occupied by Russia's military for five weeks, United Nations nuclear watchdogs have assessed the damage done to the Ukrainian city of Chornobyl and the site of its notorious nuclear disaster.

It's been 36 years since the world witnessed in horror the catastrophic consequences of the explosion at Chornobyl. The full scale of those implications have, in many cases, been revealed slowly — the life-altering impacts felt by some even today.
