Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang announced that Chinese-US trade talks concluded with a day extension and that the results will be released soon, during a daily news briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.
The talks, led by mid-level officials and starting on Monday, are the first face-to-face engagement of the two countries since December 1, when US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to a 90-day truce on new tariffs expiring in March.
China shows positive signs for an extension of negotiations. Lu Kang stated that the extension means both sides are taking it seriously and that if the talks see a positive result, it is not only good news for China and the US, but also for the the rest of the world.
