India has embarked on an ambitious project to introduce cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park (KNP), for which seven helipads are being built to translocate the big cats, the fastest mammal on Earth, from Africa. "After the first group of cheetahs is translocated from Namibia on September 17, they will be immediately quarantined so that they can acclimatise better to the Indian weather and wildlife habitat," Minister of State for Environment Ashwini Choubey told NDTV.
