Canada’s Defence Minister Anita Anand met with her Ukrainian counterpart as the eastern European nation braces for possible invasion by Russia.
This meeting came as Canada stepped up its efforts to train Ukrainian soldiers, extending Operation Unifier by three years. But trainers on the ground now near contact lines in the Donbas region are being pulled back.
Anand told Global News that out of an abundance of caution, some Canadian troops are being repositioned.
Global’s Crystal Goomansingh reports from Ukraine.
