Thousands of migrant workers took to Parliament Hill in Ottawa to protest on Sunday, calling for changes to Canada's immigration laws to allow them rights and freedoms enjoyed by Canadians.
Many migrant workers were left vulnerable during the pandemic, as they stayed in unsafe living conditions. About 1.6 million were also left in immigration limbo after work visas expired, resulting in a lack of labour protections and access to health care.
As David Akin explains, they are now hoping to make their cause an election issue.
