On Business Live with Ian King, the UK economy unexpectedly contracted in October as higher borrowing costs hit activity.

The Office for National Statistics said that gross domestic product was estimated to have fallen by 0.3% in October, following growth of 0.2% in September.

Economists had predicted no change in GDP.
