Budget: Childcare boost would be 'positive step' for gender equality, says former minister

Justine Greening, former economic secretary to the treasury, has described the expected childcare boost today as "good news" for parents.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will likely announce a £4bn childcare expansion - with 30 hours provided for one and two-year-olds - in his Spring Budget this afternoon.

Ms Greening told Sky News that the matter will certainly be a "key battleground" at the next general election.
