BREAKING: PM - more than a million people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine

Speaking from Downing Street, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said 1.1million people - 1.3million across the UK - have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine.

And he said that within two to three weeks, one in four people in the most vulnerable groups will have a "significant degree of immunity".

Next week seven vaccination centres will open in sports stadiums and exhibition centres.
