A mother who scared off three people who were attacking her son with an axe and machete in Brampton, Ont., on Aug. 4 received a bravery award from the city on Thursday.

Video captured the incident, showing Joti Singh Mann — a well-known podcast host and real estate agent — in the driveway of his home when three individuals attacked him. The assault ended when his mother Jasmail Kaur Mann came running out of the home and scared them off.
